Surface World in February 2025 was a small yet positive event and experience - arranged in Birmingham´s vast impressive exhibition halls.

The fair reflected the UK and European surface treatment industry well as it hosted varying domestic and for example Italian, German, Turkish and a few Scandinavian exhibitors. I.e. companies specialised in abrasives, paint, drying and ovens, filters and various equipment, shot blasting, manual- as well as robotics and automated production lines. Pekotek´s visiting representative Pierre Brolin appreciated encounters with familiar companies such as Blastman or Caldan and with promising new connections.

According to numerous exhibitors, Surface World was until recently a much busier venue. UK companies and the industry as a whole suffered during the Covid pandemic and this still affects both business and the fair. But it was a pleasure to meet new acquaintances curious about Pekotek´s mobile- and multi purpose surface treatment solutions. Not least Pekotek´s non-scraper floor system, which enables cost efficient blasting / shot blasting and recycling, raised a lot of interest. We look forward to continued discussions about projects and partnerships in the UK.

Congratulations to IMFs very accommodating representatives, the Institute of Materials Finishing celebrated its´ 100 year anniversary at Surface World. Our gratitude is also extended to Nigel and the friendly and insightful fair organisers.

Pekotek will return to Surface World!
